Emphasis of Love [Tongues & Prophecy] – A Higher Calling 15

If God were to give you a special supernatural gift, what would you want? Would you like to speak in tongues? Know the deep mysteries of God? Heal the sick? Any of these gifts would be amazing, but there is something even more incredible. It’s love. 1 Corinthians 12-14 is the most extensive passage on spiritual gifts, but the emphasis of the passage is that of love! In our humanness, we tend to desire those things that build us up or make us look spiritual. If we want to be truly spiritual, we should desire those things that build up others. We should long for those gifts that help us comfort, strengthen, and encourage His people. That is what is on the heart of God.

1 Corinthians 14 will help us understand the purpose and place of tongues, and will also help us emphasize the most important thing—Love.
