Following God to a Happy Ending

We know that following God pays off in the next life, but does it pay off in this life? Can we expect a blessing in following God, or is that some sort of prosperity-gospel teaching? We need to be careful to avoid both extremes in this matter. We shouldn’t expect wealth and health from following God, but we also shouldn’t expect that the path to godliness is always a path of misery and sacrifice. In this sermon Steve talks about the Israelite’s return from captivity, and how God wanted to bless them richly and give them hope as they followed Him. This same God wants to bless us as we follow Him in faith, trust, and hope.
