Forged in the Fire

1 Peter 4:19 “So then, those who suffer according to God's will should commit themselves to their faithful Creator and continue to do good.”
There are times in life when despite us doing what is right, striving for what is good, hardship and difficulty come our way. In this message, Dove looks at the example of Joseph. In his life we can see that God is able to use hard times and even injustice for good. In the great mystery of the spiritual life, God brings life on the other side of death. He breaks us down in order to reform us. Just as Jesus died before he was resurrected to a new life, so too, God allows us to lose our selfishness, self focus, and self dependence that we might be remade with Him at the center of our lives. This death and new life leads to a place of peace and confidence in God. But it is not always an easy journey. Buckle up!
Sometimes, in the darkest times of life, all we can do is cling to God and wait.
