Love Is… Listening Attentively – When I Already Have a Lot on My Mind

Our world is full of beautiful, good things.  It is also full of dark, broken, hurtful things.  Instead of leaving us to our own misery or destroying us, Jesus came and entered into our dark world, taking the brokenness upon himself.  In this message on listening we are taught to listen to the comfort of God in the middle of the hurts of relationships, because Jesus comes and joins us in our individual lives.  We are also encouraged to listen to others, entering into their world as Jesus did into ours.  To listen in this way, we seek to understand others and allow ourselves to feel what they feel.  If we have the courage to use this empathetic listening, we can give an amazing gift of strength, connection, and comfort to others.
