Playing in the Darkness

How can understand the love of God and our intrinsic worth such that we can stand confident even when our sense of value is shaken by shame? If God allows his love to seep into us, and if we get our value intrinsically from God’s definition of value for our lives, then when something bad happens, our worth is not affected. God loves me and my value is secure.
