Salt and Light

As I look around this world I can’t help but see decay and darkness, and like those are only increasing.  Despite my inclination to escape to some island paradise and let it all just fall apart, I see that God is calling us to step into the decay and darkness.  As followers of Jesus we have an opportunity to be salt and light in this world.  Salt and light are metaphors for the influence we can bring to this world, the antidotes for decay and darkness.  We are meant to be an influence for God in the spheres in which He has put us.  May the faith, hope, and love that come from God continue to empower and embolden you to bring life into this world that so desperately needs God.
